6 week course from 18th April-13th June
(please note there will not be sessions on May B/H weekend or during May half term) This 6 week Saturday course is aimed at children wishing to apply for art scholarship or specialism at Secondary school. In this course, we will develop drawing skills through observational studies and experimental techniques. We will explore a varied range of media in drawing, painting, photography and sculpture within the context of contemporary art so that students feel confident and knowledgable when applying for art scholarship/specialism. If the school you would like to apply for has a portfolio requirement, we can assist students in preparing, creating and organising their portfolios as well as preparing them for interview and possible discussions/questions that may arise. Additionally, If you would like to order an A3 portfolio, plastic inserts and quality prints on photo paper of photography work and photographs of 3D work so the portfolio is ready for interview, please use the link here to purchase: If the school has no portfolio requirement, this course will develop artistic skills in a range of disciplines and particularly focus on observational studies to enable students to enter any formal assessment at interview with confidence. This course will be a smaller group of 10 students to enable us to work with participants on a more individualised basis. Please see outline of course structure below (note the order of sessions may be subject to change): Session 1: Observational drawing skill development Session 2: Painting and understanding of colour Session 3: Photography skills Session 4: Experimental media drawing Session 5: Sculpture Session 6: Printmaking |
