Adult Evening Class:
Oil Painting - 'Spaces and Places'
(6 week course)

Tuesday  evenings from 5th May to 16th June
(please note there will be a one week break during May half term)
7 - 8:30pm
In this course you will observe small elements that make a space special, whether the familiarity of domestic interiors, the nostalgia of holiday destinations or a local park or green space. We will begin with an introduction to colour theory and observational drawing focusing on objects found in spaces and places. You will then utilise these skills to paint an oil painting on canvas from a photograph that you provide of a space or place that has personal significance. We will focus on a cropped 'snapshot' to work on a detailed area rather than a more expansive viewpoint.
We will go through the stages of painting and how to use oils to enable you to produce a successful painting to take home.
*If you are struggling to commit to all 6 sessions, email us at [email protected] for advice about which sessions would work chronologically and we can make amendments to the booking system so you only pay for these sessions.
All materials will be provided.
